DEEEEEEVA

Sophie just had a professional grooming and refuses to leave her box.

I can assure you, her fur feels so soft and silky, you could mistake her for a giant Dachshund.

Breaking News
with Sophie Brador
**************

Well, okay, it's not breaking news anymore. Some would even say this is old news, but would you read a headline that said Old News?

It seems that while I was in the country, enjoying the company of my many fans, someone else went to NY.

You might be able to tell from what is actually in focus in this photo what she was doing. But don't be fooled. There were also beasties involved.

Terrierist beasties no less!

I'm sure you are all shocked.

I know I was.

One of these Terrierists, who seems to be their leader, was performing some sort of bizarre duck sacrifice. It is also possible that the duck is their god. It's hard to tell sometimes.

It is clear in these action shots that this Terrierist beastie is feisty and not to be fooled with.

Notice her straining to supervise

what is clearly the construction of Terrierist headquarters in New York's Meat Packing District.

You can see the fear in the faces of these humans as they try to hold back the Terrierist assault.

Yes, the fear is palpable.

Or is that palatable?

I'm hungry.

Return from New York

I arrived home from New York on Thursday night.

The house was totally empty, except for these tulips, which were a full two feet taller than they were when I left, and although they were no dog, they were very nice to see.

Sophie arrived home this morning.

I got a brief hello from the beast after which she ambled into the kitchen, got herself a drink, and then laid down to pout.

She was so disappointed to be home that she absolutely refused to acknowledge the New York City taxi that Petey got her.

But Sophie can only ignore a good stuffy for so long, and she finally gave in and checked it out.

Then she promptly fell asleep.

Leading me to wonder if she is not depressed about being home, but rather so exhausted from her adventure in the country that she can barely keep her eyes open.

I let her onto the bed for a proper nap.

She snuggled in for a good long snooze with the super soft lamb that Asta gave her.

She's probably thinking my trips to New York are totally worth it. A week in the country and new stuffies!

Poor lambie got a little schmooshed when Sophie stretched out.

Sophie may not be big on warm greetings,
but the sound of her snoring is the best welcome home ever.

Cryptic Clues

Where am I?

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Sophie is in the country, soaking up the rays and training for the next sleeping with head up competition.

I am moments away from boarding my flight to NY for a much needed break and some snuggle time with Asta. I'm hoping there will be some Petey snuggles in there too. All other Manhattan dogs will be snuggled on a first come, first served basis.

Shhhhhhhhhh!

Tonight, we are observing a moment of silence.
The calm before the storm, so to speak.
Tomorrow, Joeypalooza begins.

Tuesday, March 03, 2009

Since returning from her weekend in the country,
Sophie has been doing this.

Moping

The problem is

in the country

Sophie has a fan club

And at home, Sophie only has me.

So I'm letting her mope.

More Snow in Montreal

Sophie and I went for a late afternoon walk in Parc La Fontaine yesterday. I'm growing weary of winter, but there was fresh snow, so the beast was happy.

After this, the camera battery died. We walked for almost two hours and kept crossing paths with the same mother and son who were also on a long walk. By the mid point of the walk, Sophie got excited every time we saw them and greeted them as if they were old friends.
What a goof!

Pablo espouses his theory of life as a dog.
Sophie argues intently

Do not be afraid. They are enjoying their debate, despite sounding a little aggressive at times. While watching this video, you absolutely must NOT take in any of the background. My office is a complete disaster area. Floor to ceiling.
Do not judge me!

SOAPY BRADOR

Notice how she positions herself into the corner of the tub, as far away from the water source as possible.

I was going to wait a few days to post the Soapy Brador series, but the pressure to get on with it has been intense.

We would like to thank Joe for bestowing the name Soapy Brador upon the beast.

Now please scroll down and check out the visitor of the day.

Update: Heidi & Theo, the two rescue doodles, have homes. Good for them!
