On nice days, Sophie stands guard on her balcony, watching.

What is she looking for?

Once spotted, Sophie spends minutes contemplating what to do about it.

Then her thoughts turn to food.

Sophie got to walk and play with Pablo every day this week and this is the only picture.

I'm kind of jealous, because I didn't get to see Pablo at all.

Auntie Lucie came over for dinner the other night.

I love, love, loves my Auntie Lucie and actually sort of snuggle with her.

Maxoo was here too.


I don't bother chewing on his head like I do with Pablo, but I still like him a lot and let him play with all my toys.


It might look like he had a sleepy time, it's just not true.

Most of the time he was moving at such a break neck pace that I could hardly see him.

Then he juggled fire, proving that the cirque is alive and well in Montreal.

Blue Sophie Kind of Slow

Sophie has a sore leg and she's hoping to score some street treats, so the overall effect is it took us forever to walk half a block.

One day, I will figure out the white balance on this camera.

Collar me Spring

Once upon a time last spring, Sophie got a package overflowing with sock monkey goodness from Gooberstan.

Thanks to Stanley, Sophie was sporting the best and most comfortable, yet hip, cool and funky collar ever.

Now, almost a year later, Sophie decided she needed another one.
Here she is modeling her new Spring 2009 look.

Someone to Watch Over You

Pablo came over to play the other day.

They usually play like crazy, but Sophie was pretty tired. Pablo being the gentlemen he is, watched over her while she slept.


Then they traded places and Sophie watched over him for a while.

Then they traded places again and both slept while I watched over them.

But I soon got bored and woke them up.

Petey lives in the West Village and knows all the best doggie souvenir shops.

I told Sophie all about Petey and his love of tennis balls and she fell asleep dreaming of the day (maybe in May) that she can go play tennis ball with Petey nose to nose.

And that's why this blog post is called

ODE TO PETEY

Petey and Sophie were born to be best buddies.

As far as Sophie is concerned.

any dog who can obsess over as tennis ball as much as she does is her kind of dog.
