Introducing Sophie's Brother
- Son Frere (en Français) -

Graham

Graham is 4 years old and ran 18 races. He won 2. I don't know if that is good or bad. Some dogs run no races and some run 200, so I don't really know what this means. The rescue told me his former owner is one of the better ones, who actually cares about his dogs and where they go after their racing careers. I hope that means that he was treated well during his time on the tracks .... or as well as can be expected. It is a crappy industry.

He is settling in very well and Sophie seems quite content with his presence. There is no jealousy at all, but then Sophie is not the jealous type. She is probably relieved that there is another beast around who is getting hugs and pats so that she doesn't have to put up with it as much.

So far, Graham has mastered going up stairs. Down is still pretty wobbly, but he'll get it. He has also met other dogs of all shapes and sizes (from pitty to puppy) and is totally cool with all of them.

Welcome Graham! I am glad to hear your racing for sport days are over! Dog racing is pretty big here in Florida and in some ways I really can't believe it is legal. I have seen pics of what your life will be like from now on and rest assured you have landed one sweet gig as they say!
Sophie, I am glad you have someone to share the workload now! Moose knows what you mean, sometimes all the mooshing on can be a bit much!

It looks like he has stripes like me! I think going up OR down stairs is way too hard.

Is that Graham like Graham cracker? Like a flat food product?

Hi Sophie and Graham,

Welcome home, Graham. I so glads you now have a name. I love the name Graham. ;o))

Very glad you two like each others. Will you have time for Mum now? Oh, she's going to work soon. Good. Now you can raise hell while she is off working and then can blame each other for the resulting mess. Cool. Smart move, Sophie.

Graham, we're glad you don't have to run races anymores. That is not a nice thing peeps make dogs or any other animals do, if they don't want to. You found a really neato forevers home with Sophie and her mum.

Be careful around those steps. And keep your nose where it belongs. I know about greyhounds and their noses. sD told me so.

And no fighting over the couch.

From a "fellow" Velcro dog, Wuufs!

P.S. (Now I'm hungry. Got milk?) :o))

Hey! Tell your mom thanks for noticing momma's hair. She stopped coloring it and is growing out all her gray furs. She says it gives her more authority (but she is wrestling with that blow dryer thing).

I am seriously glad that you like your new brother. Just be careful when he starts running!

Mango

Graham!!! Graham the Greyhound!
That's a nice choice. Does it have a background?

We have lots of retired greyhounds here in Florida and it's so gratifying to see them liberated from their travails. They make wonderful companions.

When we used to take Jakey to the dog park, two greyhounds would run with him -- but pace themselves so that he wouldn't feel outrun.

Welcome, Graham!!!

I dig the name! Going down stairs is always the big challenge - but he should fall in love with you fast enough to figure it out in a hurry.

Petey said...

Bonjour Graham!

I am assuming he may speak a bit of French? Definitely a handsome fella and a suitable escort for the lovely Ms. Brador. Hope he doesn't get any romantic ideas - would hate for joe Stains to risk another ear-cropping.

Sorry we haven't been around lately but we really enjoyed the stroll through your 'hood!

Your pals,

Petey, Mica and Mom

Hi Graham! I hope your past life was good but trust me buddy, it's about to get a lot better! Be good to my S ladies because I sure do like them both.

wally t.

ps. Sophie, you are correct that babies brudders are wonderful for when apes want to snuggle and you just want to nap, clean your toes, contemplate our thrownness, etc.
